Artsy and 1:54, the Contemporary African Art Fair, are pleased to announce their partnership in bringing the fair—Europe’s leading international fair dedicated to contemporary African art, now in its second year in London—online to a global audience. Artsy, the premier online resource for browsing the world’s most influential art fairs offers collectors and art enthusiasts the opportunity to explore the fair, collect works from existing galleries, and access exclusive editorial content including 'Insider Picks' on Artsy.net or the Artsy app for iPhone.

This year, 1:54 has doubled in size, taking over both the East and West Wings of Somerset House in
London. It will once again provide an unparalleled showcase of the world’s finest Contemporary African Art from 16 to 19 October 2014. The fair is accompanied by a critical conversations series comprising of lectures, artist talks, film screenings and panel discussions presented by international curators, artists and leading experts in the field.

Ahead of the opening, 1:54 and Artsy will launch their partnership with a panel discussion on 9 September 2014 at Artsy’s headquarters in New York City. Panelists will include Touria El Glaoui, director of 1:54, Christa Clarke, curator of Arts of Africa at The Newark Museum, and Taymour Grahne, gallerist and exhibitor, among others. Melanie Edmunds, Content Partner Manager at Artsy, will moderate the conversation.

The collaboration, which follows on the heels of 1:54’s highly successful inaugural event last autumn, marks a global expansion of the fair and signals a growing market for contemporary African art.

Denim on Denim

Who said people who wear denim on denim cannot be trusted? I say, people who wear denim on denim and get it right are trend-setters. To get a maximum effect from your 'denim on denim' trend, add an edgy accessory to the piece for a timeless look.

Where I got the pieces from....
Long sleeve shirt from H&M
Denim skirt from Levi
White heel shoe from Matalan and
Sunglasses from an Independent Store in London

StyleItApp.com

The best way to improve your personal style is to create as many styles as you can. Before you could only do this using a board and cut-out pieces from magazines or newspaper. Now, you can do that using your mobile device, anywhere at your convenience. I must warn you though, they can be addictive. I was contacted by #StyleIt team to try their new app. I was sceptical because I had tried a number of apps and they all look the same, plus they take a while as you copy and paste images. But I decided to try StyleIt anyways and see what happens. To my surprise, it takes less than a minute to create a look. All you need to do is upload a look, or select a look from a website (web and camera options available). Once this is done, you select an item category and click 'styleit'. Ten different style options are presented and you can choose whichever you like. As simple as A..B..C
